A luxury wedding planning company handling weddings between ₹1–3 crores wanted to build a separate shopping platform for their existing clients.

The goal was to create an appointment-based shopping experience where customers could visit designer stores with specialized attention and premium service.

But there was one major problem.

Once customers started directly interacting with designers and luxury brands, there was a high chance of customer poaching, where brands could directly build relationships with these high-value clients outside the ecosystem.

The client wanted to create a luxury shopping experience without losing ownership of their customers.

To solve this challenge, we shifted the entire business model from being product-driven to service-driven. Instead of creating just another shopping website, we built a service-oriented shopping model.

We started by creating a detailed customer questionnaire that captured:

  • Preferred garment styles
  • Colors
  • Embroidery preferences
  • Fits and cuts
  • Overall outfit expectations

Based on the customer’s responses, the same requirements were shared with all empaneled 250 + designers associated with the platform.

The designers then sent curated collections that matched the client’s preferences.

From there, we created personalized collages and presentations showcasing only the most relevant outfit options for the customer.

Once selections were made, customers were given a complete personalized shopping itinerary.

To make the experience seamless, additional concierge-style services were added, including:

  • Pickup and drop services
  • Full-day cab assistance
  • Lunch arrangements during shopping
  • On-ground assistance throughout the experience

This shifted the platform from being product-focused to convenience-focused.

Customers were no longer coming just to buy garments they were coming for the ease, personalization, and luxury experience.

To further retain customers within the ecosystem, a 10% cashback model was introduced.

After completing their purchases, customers simply uploaded their bills and received cashback directly through:

  • GPay
  • Credit card
  • Preferred payment method

This added an extra incentive for customers to continue shopping through the platform instead of directly approaching designers later.

By turning the platform into a luxury concierge-led shopping experience instead of just a marketplace, the client was able to create a more personalized customer journey while reducing the risk of customer poaching and increasing long-term customer retention.
